Join us on Sunday, May, 22, 2022 for the 2nd Annual ShadFest, a FREE family-friendly celebration of the Brandywine River and the return of the American shad!

Kick-off the morning with the ShadRun 5K race through Brandywine Park. (Walking is welcomed.)

The Festival starts at 10am with live music by the Sin City Band at noon. Enjoy engaging stations like fishing lessons for kids, seining demonstration, face painting, stream bug storytellers, Interactive watershed model, T-shirt fish printing, Shad obstacle course, food and craft vendors, adult beverages and so much more! And special guest appearance by The Mermaid of the Chesapeake!
This event is made possible by a consortium of leading environmental organizations including Brandywine Conservancy, Delaware Nature Society, University of Delaware Water Resources Center, Partnership for the Delaware Estuary, Sea Grant Delaware, Brandywine Shad 2020, Delaware Division of Fish & Wildlife, Stroud Water Research Center, The Nature Conservancy, Wilmington Water Works, Upstream Alliance and the Urban Water Federal Partnership.
